What information does Tuhono collect about me?

The information you enter on the main registration form and in the "Join Tuhono Research Panel" section is considered to be personal information. This is because it can be used to identify you personally. It includes, for example, your name, email address, date of birth, ethnicity, iwi affiliation, income and telephone number.
The information you provide is stored by us for as long as you remain a member of the Tuhono Research Panel, or for as long as necessary to achieve the purpose we collected it for as disclosed to you by us.
How does Tuhono use the personal information I provide?
We use the personal information you provide in the "Join Tuhono Research Panel" section to identify you, to validate your identity, to contact you, to send prizes, and to maintain and administer your Tuhono Research Panel account.
Any personal information is kept strictly confidential and will be used only for the purpose disclosed to you by us.
We will not rent, sell or otherwise distribute your personal information to any other person, company or organisation unless you authorise us to do so. However, we may also be required by law to disclose information you provide. Tuhono will only make the disclosure if it believes in good faith that it is legally required to do so.
What happens to the answers I give in a survey?
The information you provide when completing a survey is used for research analysis that helps us understand the things that really matter to you and your whanau.
The survey results are only shared with Tuhono Research panel members on an aggregate or collective basis. For example, we might tell our members that 56% of our members have indicated that "whanau should be the basis for my wellbeing and development". However, we will never tell our members your name, email address, telephone numbers or other personal information unless you authorise us to do so.
Where Tuhono Research Panel members are asked to comment on an issue, your name will not be related to any individual comment which might be published without obtaining your authorisation first.
What security measures are in place?
For your security and privacy any details that you provide when joining the Tuhono Research Panel are entered and stored on our secure administration site. We are constantly reviewing and upgrading security measures.
Does Tuhono use cookies, and what are they?
Our computers may use "cookies" when you join the Tuhono Research Panel.
